Events specialist Image Line Communications has been praised for its work on the merchandising area for the ‘Cats’ show at the London Palladium. With two weeks to go before the show’s opening night, Image Line was chosen by Live Nation Merchandise Europe to build its merchandise concept. The job involved cladding the upper part of the ornate, Edwardian wall with Foamex panels overlaid with stars and moon graphics and installed with tiny lights. The wall’s lower section was mounted with black wooden slat wall panels to display the Cats merchandise and there were also Cats floor visuals.
John Rios of Grafix Jam, prepared the art for this Motley Crue stage set where various printed textile components made it a real showcase project for Sew What, a ‘do-it-all’ theatre and stage set specialist in the US.
The main drapery elements were the digitally printed kabuki drop and matching main drape kabuki legs. The larger drape element was digitally printed on an EFI Vutek UV printer, and the leg segments had graphic elements that matched up and overlapped for a seamless image.
